It's probably the same when some American tries to speak in a foreign language. After all, the bad guys in Die Hard 1 were supposed to be speaking German. Except they weren't.  :nosweat:

That being said, I understand what you mean completely.

I mean the subbed version of the Yakuza arc of Black Lagoon. OMG! Revy! You're supposed to be American and speak only English. That's not English!

Or Evangelion 2.22. It's obvious English was not the VAs native language.

Now yes, I'll admit these two examples are actually not the worse Engrish out there (and those series I probably haven't really seen. The ones that are atrocious). Still, as an English speaker/listener, you won't confuse these VAs as native speakers.

Me watching Black lagoon is EXACTLY what brought the topic to my head......it was REALLY good in the english version how Rock was translating the english, but in the sub, I was like WTF is Balalaika  saying

Are the producers that cheap they can't Hire English voice actors for certain scenes?
It can't be THAT hard to find a english speaker in the world who's voice is AT LEAST somewhat similar to the  seiyuu

I have a feeling that Funimation will not attempt to license the series til they are sure that AIC does not try to sneak out an extra episode, after their license agreement is agreed upon. That way they're not caught with their parts down, like after episode 7 was announced for TM!R OVA3. Or that extra episode of Elfen Lied, that ADV never licensed.

My guess is that they make an announcement at the end of winter. As the odds on them passing on this show is slim, at best.

You should write them and tell them they need to watch more subtitled Disney and Hanna Barberra films. Use google to translate your letter to Japanese. It should work, right? :)

not just huge boobs and sexual juices all over the place

Personally, what bothers me the most was when the girl cries so much that she would be raped. And also when the girl is actually violating ....

It hasn't been licensed yet. And that's the first step. The website I got it from a few days ago removes anime once they're licensed and it's still posted. Generally there's a gap of some months after it's licensed while translation is done, voice actors are recruited for dubs, recording is done, subtitles are timed and added, etc. Don't know how long that usually takes just know it's not one of those "add hot water, let sit for 3 minutes and you're done" things.

Tenchi Muyo! / Power Stone
« Last post by Tenchi Ryu on September 05, 2010, 02:46:14 am »
Anybody remember playing power stone? My FAVORITE character was Wang-Tang.....He's alot of people's favorite because of the time he came out as well......Not only he looks VERY similar to Tenchi, but he is like a dbz ssj clone.....because power stone came out when both Tenchi muyo and DBZ were very popular on Toonami, I use to always consider him a fusion between Tenchi and Goku

Doesn't the character ayame(the one on the left) look REALLY familiar?(*cough*ayeka)

WANG TANG transformed

Not quite sure.....its almost 100000% sure that it would be Funimation if it is released......and I remember ANB definitely saying that Funimation is VERY aware of ISM, its just a matter of them wanting to put money into getting it....but now them being "super save-a-Tenchi series" now....maybe the chances are looking better
