completely awesome unbeatable fanfic that broke my heart
« on: May 04, 2010, 01:29:35 am »
i was reading the fanfics by BobR recently and they are amazing. absolutely breathtaking in their complexity and depth of character. after picking them up i couldn't put them down to save my own life. they just kept getting better as you read further in, the different stories conveying the authors perception of the TM universe beautifully, but if you don't want a total and complete let down, do not read any further than "Duty Calls" as the story does not finish, and there is no hope of completion because the latest update was 2003.

Yeah, unfinished fanfics are common.  Epics are just too much to write, imo

there are lots of unfinished fanfics, but this one has about 14 completed stories, which take place one after the other, but when it gets to the final story it just kinda cuts off a chapter or two before the grand finale.

Maybe he / she got distracted with RL and never got around to finishing it, and then maybe tried to complete it, but lost the plot idea for the remaining chapters...I know that's happened to me on more than one occasion.

Yeah, that does suck.  Sorry.

Always leave feedback on an author's story.  That's pretty much their only reward for writing fanfics that take hours upon hours.  Who knows, it may prompt him to finish what he started?

I know whenever I receive a review...good or bad...at least I know my efforts for writing the story weren't in vein and wasted.  Good reviews, especially warm my heart.
