Personality:
Keshou could be described as a person with multiple personality disorder if one did not know her well enough. One moment, she can be a bubbly airheaded girl with no sense of direction. The next moment, she could be a serious opponent, whose skills are invisible to the average human.

Background:
Originally born in China, Keshou lived a happy life. Her mother and father worked in the shrine while her grandfather seemingly did nothing but practice his archery and drink tea.

One day, however, Keshou found out that she had a special skill... she could see the spirits that resided around the temple. She ran to tell her parents, but they simply assumed she was imagining things and went about their work. Only her grandfather believed her. He told her that she was 'special' and that when she was older, he would teach her how to use her 'special' ability.

This was when she was 6.

When she turned 7, she thought she saw a large serpent flying over the temple and into the temple where her parents were. She ran to her grandfather and described the beast and its porcelain white mask. Her grandfather ran to the temple in a rush, muttering something about 'Not being too late'.

Unbeknownst to him, the serpent had already finished Keshou's parents and was moving onto the main course: the girl who could see spirits.

As he ran, the grandfather heard a scream and immediately changed directions back towards his granddaughter. He arrived, and found a long Hollow hovering over a bleeding Keshou. This was all Keshou saw before she blacked out.

Hours later, Keshou awoke with her grandfather at her side. He told her that she had been attacked by an impure spirit: a Hollow. While she had been saved, her parents had not survived. When she asked how he defeated the Hollow, her grandfather revealed that their family was of a Quincy bloodline, an ancient race who lived to purge the world of Hollows. As it turned out, her parents had known about the spirits, but they simply did not want to alarm their young daughter.

Keshou begged her grandfather to train her in the art of the Quincy to avenge her parents and he accepted her as his student.

Over the years, Keshou was trained in the Shansi-style of Quincy Arts. Reading from numerous military books and hearing ancient legends, Keshou slowly built up her arsenal and adapted the fighting style to her own purposes.

Eventually, Keshou and her grandfather moved to Japan after being told by an acquaintance of her grandfather's that there had been a boost in Hollow activity in the Karakura area. With moving into a modern city came new resources for Keshou to hone her skills and cause her arsenal to grow to an innumerable size. She had lived in the area for 2 years before the present day.

Additional powers:
The forerunner of the Quincy's abilities lies in a magic skill known as 'Tracing'. This skill allows for the transmutation of the form of existing objects through the user's imagination. With this ability, a person is able to transform ordinary objects like wooden branches into metal swords. However, tracing demands a substantial amount of mana and concentration, and replication is limited by the raw materials available for transmutation. Furthermore, all transmuted objects suffer a degradation in quality and have to be maintained with constant supplement of mana, making this ability almost useless in combat.

However, the uniqueness of the Quincy allows for the use of such a technique in combat. Instead of taxing the internal spirit, or mana, the Quincy operate differently. A weapon, such as a bow, is constructed from spiritual particles drawn from their surroundings. This is the stopping point of the standard form of Quincy Arts.

While similar in battle skills, the Shansi-style of Quincy Arts is different from the standard form of Quincy Arts in terms of its arsenal. While the standard form requires the Quincy's weapon of choice to be a bow, the Shansi-style is different in that it allows for the user to create any object that the Quincy has seen or heard enough in detail. In effect, it takes full advantage of the original Tracing skill in that it is based upon the user's imagination, enabling for the theoretical duplication of any weapon and its abilities.

Furthermore, the Shansi-style takes a page from the lighter form of Tracing, known as 'Reinforcement' sorcery. In original sorcery, 'Reinforcement' was the power to analyze the structural composition of objects, and with an understanding of their chemical and physical makeup, increase said object's effectiveness in its given purpose, such as increasing a blade's sharpness or a shield's durability. Using the ambient spirit particles, a student of the Shansi-style can create a layer of spirit energy around a physical object, in effect increasing its effectiveness.

Due to the unique nature of the Shansi-style, the focus object for the Quincy is found embedded in the Sanrei gloves they wear.

Weaknesses:
The only drawback of the Quincy, regardless of school, is the very being of a Quincy. The only limit to a Quincy's ability to create is their own stamina and ability to absorb ambient spirit particles.

Furthermore, due to the unique nature of the Shansi-style, immense concentration and ambient spirit particles is required for more powerful weapons. For example, if a student of the Shansi-style were to try and duplicate a Zanpakuto, it would require immense stamina and energy to duplicate. However, if he were to try and use it against the original Zapakuto, the blade would fail.

Thus is the major flaw of Tracing: the duplicate is never stronger than the original.

The only drawback of Keshou is her airheadedness at times. While being a capable fighter, she is quite clueless in terms of reality.

Extra information: There's a few little hidden details I'll be saving in terms of abilities. Wouldn't be fun if I told you everything to expect, ne?
